National Teacher Appreciation Day is May 8th, the first Tuesday in May. Introduced by first lady Eleanor Roosevelt back in 1953, this day was created to honor teachers. Organizations such as the National Teacher Association and National Parent Teacher Association are encouraging students to use social media and thank teachers who have made a difference in their life using the hashtag #thankateacher.
Businesses are thanking teachers with free menu items. Below are some of the businesses to check for teacher appreciation day meals.
Check your local restaurant to verify their offer. Bring your valid faculty ID.
